John (Randy) Torbet
Biography
John (Randy) Torbet, our founder, was admitted to the bar in 1968 and established himself as a leader among the Colorado Springs legal community in effectively advocating for the rights of his clients. During his over fifty years of practice, Mr. Torbet earned a reputation as a knowledgeable, honest, and fair-minded attorney who worked tirelessly to bring honor to an often maligned profession. The Colorado Trial Lawyers Association described Mr. Torbet as “someone who speaks up for the average person,” reporting that during his many years as a lawyer, “Torbet has represented a lot of those average people” in cases “from teenagers’ traffic tickets to multi-million dollar real estate transactions.” Each member of our firm seeks to continue Mr. Torbet’s legacy.
During his career Mr. Torbet taught political science at what is now Pikes Peak State College, served as a Municipal Judge for the City of Fountain for nearly 40 years, served as president of the Colorado Municipal Judges Association from 1980-81, and finished six marathons.
Mr. Torbet retired from the practice of law in 2021, and he is enjoying his retirement with his wife in Arizona.
