Biography

Alyssa L. Miller’s practice focuses on civil litigation, real estate disputes, estate planning, probate, and trust litigation. She prides herself on working to find creative solutions outside the court system whenever possible. But, when disputes cannot be resolved through negotiation, she applies her significant litigation experience to advocate vigorously for her clients. For her civil litigation practice, Ms. Miller has ample experience successfully handling complex real estate, construction defect, and business disputes. She has handled matters across the state in district court, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the Colorado Court of Appeals, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

For her probate practice, Ms. Miller is skilled in administering both simple and complex estates and has successfully litigated estates involving will contests, the family and exempt property allowances, and the elective share. She also has experience handling guardianship and conservatorship cases. Ms. Miller uses her probate and litigation experience to craft creative and effective estate planning solutions for her clients and their families when drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.

Ms. Miller grew up in a military family, spending much of her childhood moving around the United States and Europe. She earned her law degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Denver where she served as president of the Elder Law Society and participated in the Civil Litigation Clinic. Ms. Miller graduated in the top ten percent of her law school class and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. After graduating from law school, Ms. Miller worked as a Judicial Fellow at the Denver Probate Court where she gained valuable experience working with the Colorado judicial system. She was admitted to the Colorado State Bar in 2016 and joined Torbet & Tuft in 2017.

In her spare time, Ms. Miller enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors hiking and snowboarding.
